Aeolis Research was formed by four planetary science researchers, Drs. Christopher Lee, Yuan Lian, Claire Newman and Mark Richardson.
Our goals are to understand the atmospheres and climate systems of planetary bodies, by combining the analysis of observational datasets with state-of-the-art numerical modeling.
With colleagues Anthony Toigo at APL and Michael Mischna at JPL, we developed the planetWRF multi-scale model based on NCAR’s WRF (Weather Research and Forecasting) model. planetWRF was the first publicly available numerical model of planetary atmospheres that could be applied to solid surface bodies.
